Teen killed in single vehicle crash near Shediac
17-year-old from Saint-Antoine was a passenger in a vehicle that left Route 15 early Sunday
A single vehicle crash near Shediac has claimed the life of a teenager from Saint-Antoine.
The 17-year-old male was a passenger in a vehicle that was travelling westbound on Route 15 on Sunday, at about 3:30 a.m., when it missed a turn, left the road and rolled into a ditch near the exit for Highway 11, say RCMP.
The victim was transported to a hospital, where he later died, Sgt. Paul Ouellette said in a statement.
His name is not being released at this time.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, also from Saint-Antoine, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, said Ouellette.
The investigation continues.
