Suspect arrested in machete robbery in Saint-Antoine

A Saint-Antoine man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery with a machete over the weekend.

A Saint-Antoine man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery with a machete over the weekend.

A man wearing a ski mask and armed with a machete demanded money at the Saint-Antoine Variety on Saturday at about 9 p.m., say RCMP.

The man left with an undisclosed amount of money, Cpl. Mario Maillet, of the Richibucto RCMP, said in a statement.

No one was injured, he said.

A 34-year-old man was arrested the following afternoon and is scheduled to face charges in Moncton provincial court on Tuesday, said Maillet.
