A delegation from Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley and Digby regions will cross the Bay of Fundy next week to meet with some of their counterparts in Saint John, N.B., as part of a project to create new business opportunities.

About 10 companies in the technology, hospitality and fishing industries looking for ways to expand their profile in the Saint John market will be matched up with businesses in that city.

The idea came out of the Annapolis Digby Economic Development Agency's business plan to make new connections, said Liz Barry-Morine, the group's managing director.

"It came about from our businesses and our boards of trade who were interested in being able to have conversations," said Barry-Morine.

"We know that and we see that our businesses in the Annapolis-Digby area have a lot of value we feel can be added into the Saint John market and we're hoping we can find that same value and the reciprocal value back into our market as well."

She said the Digby Board of Trade hopes to have a delegate from Saint John come to Nova Scotia in the summer season.

The meetings are scheduled for next Thursday in Saint John.
