$66K in brass coils stolen from Coleson Cove in Saint John
Theft at generating station occurred between December and Feb. 14, police say

The Coleson Cove Generating Station had brass coils, valued around $66,000, stolen between December and Feb. 14. (CBC)Saint John police are investigating the theft of brass coils worth $66,000 from NB Power's Coleson Cove Generating Station.
The 24 brass coils were stolen some time between December 2012 and Feb. 14, Sgt. Jay Henderson said in a news release on Friday.
Henderson said the coils are used to rebuild the generators at the Saint John facility on King William Road.
The coils are described as being 24 by 18 inches, and look similar to a carpenter's square, he said.
Anyone with information related to this crime is asked to contact the Saint John Police Force's major crime unit at 506-648-3211, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Coleson Cove has been operating since 1976.
