Family and friends of a Mount Allison student who disappeared in November are hoping their latest search planned for Saturday will turn up some clues.

Christopher Metallic was last seen Nov. 25 leaving a house party on Allison Street in Sackville.

He left the party without his own shoes, but may have been wearing flip flops, witnesses said.

The RCMP searched the area for several days with a helicopter, police dog and a team of divers.

Volunteers with the Tri-County Ground Search and Rescue and members of the Sackville Fire Department also participated in the search.

But with no new clues or information as to Metallic's whereabouts, the active search was called off on Dec. 4.

Since then Metallic's family has continued doing their own searches around the Sackville area.

Family friend Amanda Cardinal-Stright is organizing another search Saturday.

"The parents have been in rivers, breaking ice in chest waders. We've been trudging through snow and trees and brush, but nothing's turned up yet," she said. "That's why I'm hoping with this weekend we get the larger group of people, we can come across more land and cover more of a location area."

Cardinal-Stright said she hopes at least 80 volunteers will come out to help.

She said they'll be meeting at the Sackville Information Centre at 9 a.m. Saturday.
