Three people in Hoyt are facing drug-related charges following two separate raids on marijuana grow-ops in the community in recent days.
RCMP seized about 75 marijuana plants, grow operation equipment, hashish, a quantity of unidentified pills, and a loaded firearm during the execution of a search warrant at a home on Jan. 23, Cpl. Jim Christensen stated in a release.
A 40-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Burton provincial court on May 6 on charges of marijuana cultivation and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible, said Christensen.
Meanwhile, police seized a quantity of marijuana plants, grow operation equipment and an unsafely-stored firearm during another search at a home on Jan. 25.
A couple was arrested. The man and woman, both aged 38, will appear in Burton provincial court on April 8 on charges of marijuana cultivation and possession for the purpose of trafficking, Christensen said.
That investigation also continues, with more charges possible, he said.
