RCMP have identified the victim of a fatal crash on Highway 10 in Long Creek on Saturday night.
Jeremiah Greenwood, 29, of Waterborough, was travelling eastbound at about 5 p.m. when his vehicle crossed the centre lane and struck an oncoming car, police say.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that alcohol and not wearing a seat belt were contributing factors," Sgt. Andy O'Connell states in a release.
The passengers of the other vehicle — a mother and her two children — were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An accident reconstructionist attended the crash site, located about 30 kilometres north-west of Sussex.
The investigation continues.
