RCMP probe Chipman fire as possible arson
Seek public's help in identifying men who called 911

RCMP believe a fire near Chipman last month that required a water bomber to be called in may be a case of arson.
Officers are seeking the public's help in locating two men who called 911 to report the fire on Sept. 1, at about 1 p.m., Cpl. Chantal Farrah stated in a news release.
"Investigators believe the men, who also attempted to extinguish the fire, may have information that would be helpful in the investigation," she said.
The fire caused extensive damage to an industrial-sized wood chipper that was in the woods, about 20 kilometres off of the Avon Road, said Farrah.
The fire became so hot that a Department of Natural Resources water bomber was called in to extinguish the fire so that it would not spread to the woods, she said.
Cumberland Bay Fire Department also responded to the fire.
