(CBC)CBC News was a big winner at the Canadian Online Publishing Awards, taking the top Gold designation in six categories at a ceremony Monday in Toronto.
CBCNews.ca was selected as best overall online-only publication website, while the CBC News app was chosen as both best smartphone app and best tablet edition.
CBC Hamilton, launched in May, was named best mobile-optimized website.
Two pieces of reporting also won the top prize: Kidnapped: The Search for Graham McMynn, was chosen as best cross-platform initiative, while CBCNews.ca's live coverage of the NDP's 2012 leadership convention was lauded for best news coverage.
