Shayne Clark was arrested in connection with a seizure at the St. Stephen border on Oct. 13. (Google Street View)A 31-year-old man from the United States, who was arrested at the St. Stephen border over the weekend, has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.
Shayne Clark, of Philadelphia, remains remanded in custody and further charges could be pending, RCMP Cpl. Chantal Farrah stated in a release.
The investigation is ongoing, she said.
Clark was entering Canada on Oct. 13 when a Canada Border Services Agency agent inspected his vehicle and discovered a laptop containing at least one video depicting child sexual abuse, said Farrah.
The laptop was seized and is being analyzed to determine if there are any other pornographic images, she said.
Clark is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 27. A pre-sentence report is being prepared.
The CBSA, St. Stephen RCMP and the RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit participated in the investigation.
