83-year-old man facing charges

Charges are pending against an 83-year-old New Brunswick man after a teen was struck by a vehicle Saturday night.
Police say the incident happened at about 8 p.m. on route 119 near Quispamsis.
Two sisters, aged 13 and 14, were walking along the road when the 14-year-old girl was struck by a passing pick-up truck.
Rothesay Regional Police Cpl. Joe Cantelo said the truck fled the scene, but investigators found debris that led them to an 83-year-old driver.
The man was arrested and later released. Cantelo said alcohol was not a factor.
The victim spent the night in the hospital, but returned home Sunday.
