Cadet Master Warrant Officer Julie LeBlanc. (Submitted.)A young Moncton woman who has been honoured numerous times has yet another award after she was named Canada's most outstanding army cadet.
Cadet Master Warrant Officer Julie LeBlanc is the recipient of the 2012 General Walsh Memorial Sword. The sword is the highest national prize for any army cadet.
Recipients are chosen not only based on their performance as army cadets, but also for their community involvement and their academic standings.
LeBlanc has been part of the 560 Moncton Army Cadet Corps since 2006. She has been involved in the corps band, the biathlon, marksmanship and orienteering teams.
As the winner of the Walsh Sword, LeBlanc will travel to Ottawa as the guest of the Royal Canadian Legion. She will attend the Remembrance Day ceremony at the National War Memorial as part of the Vice-Regal party.
