Jurors at the Curtis Bonnell trial in Miramichi, N.B. spent Friday listening to more taped conversations between the accused and RCMP investigators.

Bonnell is charged with first degree murder in connection with the death of his 16 year-old cousin, Hilary Bonnell. The court again heard police pressing Curtis Bonnell for specific details about his role in Hilary's death.

RCMP Sgt. Greg Lupson, the lead investigator in the case, is continuing to try and extract information from Bonnell on what happened to Hilary Bonnell. But the investigator has been interviewing Bonnell for weeks and has been unable to pin down details.

Curtis Bonnell continues to say things like "I don't know" and "I can't remember". He also has talked of spiritually, often in a confusing way.

RCMP did get a spiritual elder to meet with Bonnell in person and that elder is trying to convince Bonnell to give police the details they want to hear. At one point the elder even asked Curtis Bonnell to "stop playing the drama game."

Bonnell, 32, of the Esgenoopetitj First Nation, is standing trial for first-degree murder.

The Crown alleges Bonnell picked up Hilary on Sept. 5, 2009, as she was walking along Micmac Road in the northeastern New Brunswick community after a party.

Bonnell is accused of holding Hilary against her will, sexually assaulting her and killing her.

The trial will continue on Tuesday when jurors will hear more of the conversation between Bonnell and the elder.
