A small explosion at an oil refinery in Saint John, N.B. Wednesday morning is expected to have an effect on gas prices in Nova Scotia when the price is adjusted at midnight Thursday.
The blast, that sent at least one person to hospital, affected petroleum markets in New York.
This has since affected the predicted price of gas in Nova Scotia.
CBC News had predicted the price of regular gas and diesel to stay the same as last week. However, in light of the increase in petroleum, the CBC has revised its estimate.
The price of regular unleaded is expected to rise by two cents per litre to 136.3, with the price of diesel expected to rise by one cent per litre to 130.5.
