Shediac man arrested after home invasion, sex assault

Police have arrested a 21-year-old Shediac man in relation to a home invasion and sexual assault early Saturday morning.
At around 4 a.m. RCMP were dispatched to a Shediac home after receiving a complaint of a man breaking into a residence and sexually assaulting a 33-year-old woman.
The call was made after the suspect fled the victim's home on foot.
The suspect was arrested without incident at his home shortly after.
District 4 RCMP and the General Investigation Section are continuing the investigation.
The suspect will remain in custody and police said charges will likely be laid.
