Oromocto RCMP are investigating an attempted armed robbery involving syringes at a McDonalds restaurant early Tuesday morning.

A woman armed with syringes walked into the restaurant, located at 100 MacDonald Ave., at about 4 a.m., demanding money, Cpl. James Christensen said in a news release.

No money was taken and the cashier locked herself in a back office and called RCMP, Christensen said.

Investigators are seeking the public's help in identifying the person who may be responsible.

The suspect is described as being about 5' 6" tall with a stocky build. She was wearing what resembled a blanket over her head with two holes cut out, said Christensen.

Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP at 506-357-4300, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
