A 47-year-old man from Bay du Vin, N.B., has died after the vehicle he was travelling in collided with a moose on Tuesday.

Shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, RCMP and first responders rushed to a serious collision involving a southbound car and a moose on Highway 11 in Glenwood.

The man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to Miramichi Regional Hospital.

He was later transferred to Saint John Regional Hospital in critical condition, but died from his injuries on Wednesday.

The driver, and only other occupant of the vehicle, a 75-year-old man from Bay du Vin, was not badly injured.

The investigation is continuing, however police say they do not expect to lay charges in the case.
