A man suffered electric shock during an industrial accident near Millville Tuesday morning.

The man, who was working for Nackawic Mechanical Ltd., sustained severe burns to his legs, officials said

He was pulling up old train tracks when he came into contact with high voltage lines, Millville Fire Chief Justin McGuigan told CBC News.

Crews used four-wheel-drive vehicles to reach the man and take him to hospital in Fredericton, he said.

The incident cut power to the area for several hours.

Nackawic Mechanical, also known as Nackawic Transport Ltd., employs about 60 people, according to the Industry Canada website.

The business, located at 56 Pinder Rd., is listed as a manufacturer, processor, producer. It has been operating since 1973.
