A truck hauling a camper trailer crashed and caught fire on the TransCanada Highway Thursday morning, west of Fredericton.
Brun-Way, the company that manages the section of the Trans-Canada Highway from Longs Creek to the Quebec border, said the single vehicle crash happened at about 10:30 a.m. near Dumfries, east of Nackawic.
According to reports, both the truck and the trailer it was towing overturned. The trailer caught fire after the crash.
The fire was put out, but one eastbound lane had to be closed for about three hours. It was reopened at about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The driver of the truck escaped with minor injuries.
