A 26-year-old man faces charges in Halifax after an investigation into an alleged prostitution operation that moved from Halifax to Fredericton, Halifax police confirm.

Halifax police say they received a complaint in September about an alleged brothel in the 2000-block on Robie Street in Halifax.

They say the brothel moved to a Halifax motel before moving to Fredericton.

The RCMP and officers from the Halifax and Fredericton police searched a motel in Fredericton on Thursday.

They arrested seven people — including three men, two women, one female youth and one male youth — but released six of them without charges.

No charges have been laid in Fredericton.

Blake Edward Stymest faces charges including living partly on the avails of prostitution, keeping a common bawdy-house and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
