A 38-year-old Fredericton man is facing charges of luring a child and invitation to sexual touching.

Police executed a search warrant at a home on River Street on Thursday at about 10 a.m. as a result of an ongoing investigation involving the Fredericton Police Force and the RCMP.

Computers and electronic equipment were seized from the home.

“This once again sends a strong message that parents must be vigilantly aware of the internet sites their children are accessing,” Sgt. Edward Smith, of Fredericton’s criminal investigation division states in a news release.

“It also again serves firm notice that those engaged in these types of activities are being detected and charged,” he said.

The arrested man has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in provincial court on May 9.
