The ECMAs need about 180 more volunteers signed up by the end of February. (East Coast Music Association)Moncton volunteers are still needed for the East Coast Music Awards taking place in April.
About 500 volunteers are needed in total, with 320 having signed up already, according to Sara Robinson, operations manager of the ECMAs.
The city is hosting the East Coast Music Awards from April 11-15 and about 6,000 musicians, artists and fans are expected in downtown Moncton.
"We're looking for some administrative help of course, some ambassadors, some people who know the city well who would be good points of contact for all of our tourists and our visitors coming in, so that's a whole other component of ECMA Week," she said.
"We have a lot of people who are coming to Moncton from outside of our area and we definitely want to be hospitable and welcoming."
Robinson said she would like to see all 500 volunteers signed up by the end of the month.
The ECMAs are also looking for some local businesses to sponsor some of the events.
The event is expected to generate about $2 million in revenues.
