A retired RCMP officer was sentenced to six months in jail for possession of child porn Wednesday.
Terence Maurice Tupper, 56, will also be added to the national sex offender registry for life and must provide a DNA sample.
He was charged after the RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Salisbury on June 24, and seized computer equipment containing images of child sexual abuse.
Tupper represented himself in court.
He was on parole at the time of the offence. He was incarcerated at the Westmorland Institution in Dorchester on another matter.
