Steroids trafficking charges pending in Atholville

A 22-year-old man from Atholville has been arrested for possession of several drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
Police seized more than 200 units of steroids, more than one pound of marijuana, as well as hashish, RCMP Cpl. Daniel Melanson said in a news release.
The man, who was arrested on Dec. 31, has been released and is scheduled to appear in Campbellton provincial court on March 5 to face charges.
The arrest occurred after an off-duty officer observed what appeared to be a drug transaction taking place in the parking lot of Sugarloaf Provincial Park, said Melanson.
The investigation continues.
