Man arrested in Saint John fire homicide

Steven Wallace Martin, 50, was arrested Friday night in uptown Saint John. (Saint John Police)A man wanted in connection with the death of an elderly Saint John man was arrested Friday night after a Canada-wide warrant was issued Thursday.
Steven Wallace Martin, 50, was arrested in uptown Saint John.
The warrant was issued Thursday because Saint John police felt Martin was possibly armed and was considered dangerous.
Police say there will be no more details released on his arrest during the Christmas weekend.
The body of Robert Ryan, 70, was discovered Tuesday after firefighters responded to a house fire in the north end of Saint John.
Investigators say Ryan was the victim of a homicide, but have not said how he died.
