A 20-year-old Albert County man has been sentenced to three years in prison in connection with a fatal crash that killed a teenaged girl last year.

Cody Rossiter, of Germantown, had previously pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing death and impaired driving causing bodily harm, said RCMP Cpl. Christa Mitchell.

Natasha Maillet, 19, of Hillsborough, died on Oct. 8, 2010, as a result of injuries she sustained as a passenger in Rossiter's vehicle.

On Aug. 27, the Honda Civic Rossiter was driving left Caledonia Mountain Road and struck a telephone pole.

Maillet was in a coma after the crash.

Two other teenaged passengers were also injured.

The RCMP said speed and alcohol were factors in the accident.

Rossiter is also prohibited from driving for five years.
