Curling champ Jim Sullivan dies

Former world junior curling champion Jim Sullivan died unexpectedly in Fredericton over the weekend.
He was 43.
Sullivan, a married father of two, was a renowned curler.
He skipped the Jim Sullivan Rink, which captured the 1987 New Brunswick and Canadian Junior Men’s Curling Championships and the 1988 World Junior Men’s Curling Championship in Germany.
The Sullivan Rink was New Brunswick's first world champion in any sport in more than 60 years.
In 1990, Sullivan and his team were the Silver Medalists at the Labatt Brier.

Sullivan, who worked as a technical support analyst with Genesys Canada, died at his parents' home on Saturday.
The cause of death has not been released.
Sullivan continued to be active in curling over the years as a member of Thistle St. Andrews Curling Club in Saint John and an honorary life member of the Capital Winter Club in Fredericton.
He also enjoyed golfing, sailing, and basketball.
Sullivan is survived by his wife, Sonya (Groves); his two daughters, Jordan Lyn and Jamie Brynn; his parents, David and Carol Sullivan of Fredericton; his siblings, as well as several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday and Thursday at Brenan’s Funeral Home in Saint John at 111 Paradise Row.
The funeral service will be held on Friday at noon at the Church of St. Andrew and St. David, in Saint John. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
