A man and a woman found dead Saturday in Charlo, N.B., died as the result of a murder-suicide, police said.

charlo, n.b.Julien Guitard, 59, and Anne-Marie Guitard, 51, were found by police in a residence on Shirley Crescent about 9:30 p.m., after a family member expressed concern at not hearing from the couple for several hours.

Autopsies were scheduled to be performed in Saint John Monday to determine the exact cause of their deaths, said Sgt. Alain Tremblay.

Police believe it's an isolated incident and that no third party was involved, Tremblay said.

He later said RCMP had concluded the two died as a result of a murder-suicide, but released no more details.

"Due to the circumstances, charges are not anticipated in this matter. At the request of the family, other details surrounding their deaths will not be made public," Tremblay said.
