New Brunswick car crashes, including one in August, resulted in two deaths on Friday.
Natasha Maillet, 19, of Hillsborough, N.B., died Friday night as the result of injuries she suffered in a crash early on the morning of Aug. 27.
The accident happened in Caledonia Mountain in Albert County, when four teenagers between the ages of 17 and 19, including passenger Maillet, were in a Honda Civic that hit a utility pole. All four were transported to hospital, but the other three have since been released.
RCMP are still investigating the crash, which occurred on Caledonia Mountain Road, but alcohol and speed are believed to have been contributing factors.
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old man from Targettville, N.B., was killed Friday in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 126 near Harcourt in Kent County.
The crash occurred at about 9:30 p.m. when his Mazda Protege went off the road. The driver, whose name was not released, was the only occupant.
He was not wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol and speed are believed to have been factors in the crash, police said.
