The United Steelworkers Union is alleging that four of its striking Saint John workers have been hit by cars outside the Brunswick Square parking garage.
More than 100 workers at the Delta Hotel and Brunswick Square complex have been on strike since Saturday morning.
They have a picket line set up in front of the parking garage, holding drivers up for about two minutes before letting them pass.
Starr Gooden, a hotel waitress, said she was knocked to the ground Monday night and was treated in hospital.
She said her injuries aren't serious, just some bruising and muscle strain.
"This lady told me that if I didn't get out of her way she would run me over," Gooden said.
"And she did exactly what she said she would do. She hit me with her car."
The union has filed a complaint with the police about two incidents.
The Saint John Police are investigating the incidents.
Discouraging incidents
Lawrence McKay, the Atlantic co-ordinator for the United Steelworkers union, said the dangerous incidents are discouraging.
"Ninety-nine per cent of the people are really good. They respect the picket line. They know they're only going to be slowed down for you know, a minute at the most and they'll just wait until picketers move and they go on their way," McKay said.
"Some of them for some reason believe that they shouldn't be slowed down at all and they try to use their car as a weapon. It's pretty scary."
Meanwhile, the union says there's no sign talks with Fortis Properties will resume any time soon.
The workers are seeking better wages, better working conditions, and sick benefits.
