A New Brunswick prison is under a lockdown due to the spread of swine flu.

The Westmorland Institute in Dorchester has one confirmed case and a number of suspected cases, according to officials with Correctional Service of Canada.

A lockdown has been implemented at the minimum-security facility and all visits have been cancelled until further notice.

There are about 250 male offenders at Westmorland.

To help prevent the spread of the virus, inmates who belong to high-risk groups identified by public health have been immunized, officials said.
