Codiac RCMP have arrested two people in a homicide investigation into the death of a 76-year-old man from Blackville, N.B.
Durward Jardine was found dead in a Moncton hotel room on Aug. 18.
Codiac RCMP, with assistance from the Eskasoni, Baddeck and Waycobah RCMP detachments, arrested a 46-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman from the Miramichi area at the Eskasoni First Nation in Nova Scotia.
Const. Chantal Farrah said the two were in police custody and heading back to New Brunswick for a court appearance on Thursday afternoon.
An RCMP statement did not release the names of the suspects or any other information about them.
Police were still searching for Jardine's truck, described as a 2002 dark blue regular cab GMC 2500 with the New Brunswick licence plate NBF 659.
"The truck is missing from the crime scene, so we've been looking for the truck since we found the deceased," Farrah said.
"We believe it can be anywhere between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia so if you see a truck that resembles that description please call your local police or RCMP. Don't touch the truck just give us a call and we'll be responding immediately."
