The Barra MacNeils, Lennie Gallant and Damhnait Doyle are among the eclectic mix of musical acts set to perform during the run-up to the upcoming East Coast Music Awards in February.

Organizers of the annual salute to Atlantic Canadian music announced on Tuesday the lineups for a host of showcase concerts around Fredericton in the days prior to the awards ceremony.

The nominees vying for ECMA trophies and further performance announcements are expected in the coming weeks.

The next edition of the four-day East Coast Music Awards and conference marks the event's 20th anniversary and Fredericton's first time as host city.

Earlier this month, CBC-TV — which in recent years has telecast the awards show live across the country — announced it has decided instead to produce a packaged program to air after the event is over.

A CBC spokesperson cited flagging viewership as the reason for the format change.

"The new format is really going to go outside of the award ceremony and show off the city and show off the real energy of the event against the backdrop of the city," ECMA organizer Tim Yerxa said.

The ECMA festivities begin Feb. 7 and culminate in an awards gala on Feb. 10.
