A woman from the St. Stephen area charged in connection with the death of her infant has been found fit to stand trial.
Becky Sue Morrow, 26, was charged after police found the body of a baby less than one year old in the backyard of her Old Ridge home in March.
She appeared in St. Stephen court Thursday where Judge David Walker accepted a psychiatrist's recommendation that she was fit to stand trail.
Morrow is charged with disposing of the dead body of a child with the intent to conceal its birth. She's also charged with improperly or indecently offering an indignity to a dead human body. The offence carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
Morrow has chosen to be tried by judge alone.
In the meantime, Morrow has been released from custody, and is under house arrest at her grandmother's home. She can go out for reasons such as medical or legal appointments, but she has to be accompanied at all times by an adult family member.
A trial date will be set June 11.
