More RCMP officers are on their way to Grand Manan Island to investigate a weekend riot involving up to 40 people.
RCMP say a fight broke out Friday night between a group of residents from Castalia and some people from off the island.
At some point during the four-hour long battle, RCMP say a house was torched twice and shots were fired at a car.
RCMP are not saying what prompted the fight, but say there's a good chance it was drug-related.
"People have been a little less than totally forthcoming," said Sgt. Greg McEvoy, with the RCMP detachment in St. George.
He said the three officers on Grand Manan, about 35 kilometres off New Brunswick in the Bay of Fundy, were at the scene, but were only able to make one arrest.
Several officers were on their way to the island Monday to help with the investigation.
No charges have been laid.
On Sunday, RCMP Const. Mark Gallagher told CBC News the house was "not inhabitable," but no one was hurt.
