Snowmobile crash kills elderly U.S. man
Speed is believed to have been a factor in single-vehicle accident, RCMP say
A 72-year-old man from the United States died Saturday following a single-vehicle snowmobile crash near Saint-Joseph-de-Madawaska, says RCMP.
On March 2 at approximately 1:50 p.m., the District 10 RCMP responded to a report of a snowmobile crash that occurred on a trail about 40 kilometres northwest of the Moose Valley Lodge.
A man from Derry, New Hampshire, died at the scene after the snowmobile he was driving missed a turn and struck a tree.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, but speed is believed to have been a major factor.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
