RCMP continue to investigate the fatal snowmobile crash. (CBC)

A snowmobile accident in Napan has claimed the life of a 38-year-old man from Black River.

The crash occurred on a snowmobile trail near the intersection of South Napan Road and White Bridge Lane on Monday, shortly before 1 p.m., say RCMP.

The preliminary investigation indicates the snowmobile missed a turn and struck a power pole guide wire, Cpl. Guy Marquis stated in a news release.

The name of the victim has not been released.

He was alone on the snowmobile, said Marquis.

The investigation continues.
