A snowmobile crash in Doaktown Tuesday has claimed the life of a local 49-year-old man.

Death of 49-year-old Robert Stewart marks fifth snowmobile fatality in RCMP jurisdiction this year

Doaktown RCMP are investigating after a local man was killed in a snowmobile crash on Tuesday.

Robert Stewart, 49, was driving along the bank of Bettsburg Road around noon when he lost control and was thrown from his snowmobile, said Const. Eric Anderson.

An autopsy was conducted and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, he said.

Stewart's death marks the fifth snowmobile fatality in RCMP jurisdiction in New Brunswick this year.
