Codiac RCMP are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in a sexual assault that occurred outside an apartment building in Moncton last month.

A woman was about to enter her residence on Prince Street on Feb. 2, at about 11 p.m., when she was forced to the ground and touched in a sexual manner, Const. Damien Thériault stated in a release.

The woman managed to get free and enter the apartment building, he said.

A witness called 911, but the suspect fled and police were unable to locate him.

RCMP released a sketch of the suspect on Monday.

He is described as being a Caucasian man in his late 20s. He is about six feet tall, with a slim build, scruffy beard and short dark hair.

He was wearing dark blue pants, a dark blue hoodie and a dark baseball cap at the time.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Codiac RCMP at 506-857-2400, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
