Scientists test 3,500 New Brunswick artifacts
New Brunswick scientists are testing and analyzing 3,500 artifacts in an effort to find out more about the first people to live in the province.
Brent Suttie, a project executive with the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture's archaeological services unit, said a new way to test for residue on artifacts is shedding new light on the people who passed through the province up to 13,000 years ago
Suttie said he is looking at another year before a fuller picture is assembled. The residue from the rocks will be frozen for years, hoping that new secrets will be unlocked as technology improved.
