School's out in New Brunswick
Extra days off due to poor weather meant students had to play catch up
The words of Alice Cooper held true Friday: school's out for summer.
Friday was the last day of classes for kids in kindergarten through Grade 12 in New Brunswick.
While the sun is shining now, it wasn't always that way this year. Some students lost as many as 12.5 days of school because of poor weather. Just months ago, there was even talk of extending the school year to make up for days that were lost.
For students, the high number of days missed had both positives and negatives. Student Colton Hudson enjoyed the time off, but recognized that came at a price.
"We got behind on our work though, so we had to catch up," he said.
Compared to the rest of Canada, New Brunswick is getting out early. Every province, except Quebec, has class until the end of next week.
