The RCMP are investigating the death of a 59-year-old woman found in dead in her home Tuesday morning in northeastern New Brunswick.
Her body was discovered in her home in Saumarez, which is near Tracadie-Sheila in the Acadian Peninsula, at 10:45 a.m.
A family member went to check on the woman after she failed to show up for work, said RCMP Cpl. Stephane Blanchard.
"At this point the woman's death is deemed suspicious and foul play has not been ruled out," he said.
Blanchard is downplaying word in the community that victim's son may be involved.
"We know where her son is and we are not looking for anyone at the present time," said Blanchard.
Investigators are waiting for the results of autopsy to find out the cause of death.
The victim’s name is not being released.
