Saint John police say 2 men were taken to hospital after separate attacks

Saint John police are investigating what they describe as two "very serious" assaults in the city on New Year's Eve.

Two men were taken to hospital after separate attacks, one on Saint John's east side and another on the west side, say police.

Police say they are just beginning to investigate and there's no word on arrests yet.

The condition of the men who are injured is not known at this time.

Police say it was a busy night responding to several domestic incidents.
