Saint John man dies after aggravated assault
Police found man in his Prince William Street home on March 16
A 66-year-old man died in the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, three weeks after he was assaulted in a rooming house in the uptown area.
The Saint John Police said the man died in the hospital on Wednesday where he had been in the intensive care unit since March 16.
The police were called a house on Prince William Street at 4:28 p.m. on March 16, where they found he had been a "victim of a serious assault."
The victim’s name has not been released pending the family's notification.
Last month, Nicholas Logan, 35, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
He is still in jail and will be back in court on April 19, according to the police.
The police say the two men were both residents of the rooming house where the assault occurred.
The Crown prosecutor’s office and the police are reviewing the file.
