A former Saint John Animal Rescue League building in the city’s north end was heavily damaged by a fire on Monday morning.
City firefighters responded to heavy fire at the former animal rescue league property on 134 Taylor Ave. at around 1.30 a.m.
The building, which is directly in front of the old shelter, was vacant and up for sale.
Saint John firefighters contained the fire, but say there is heavy damage throughout the structure.
The Saint John Police are calling the fire suspicious and fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
