Codiac Regional RCMP are investigating a hit and run Monday that left a Riverview public works employee in hospital with serious injuries.

Codiac Regional RCMP are asking for the public's help to identify the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run in Riverview early Monday morning.

A public works employee with the Town of Riverview was struck while working on Buckingham Avenue at the intersection of Killarney Road at about 12:30 a.m., Const. Damien Thériault stated in a release.

The male victim suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital, he said.

The suspect vehicle, which left the scene heading north on Buckingham, is described as a small, gold-coloured, four-door car, possibly a Chevrolet Cavalier or a Mazda. The passenger side rearview mirror broke off during the collision.
