Eight people have been displaced after a fire broke out at a 14-unit building in Riverview on Thursday evening.
The fire at 24 Suffolk Street started at 6 p.m. and caused extensive damage to one unit and caused smoke damage in two other units.
Five adults, including three children, who live in three separate units are getting assistance from the Red Cross.
The Red Cross says one adult was home at the time of the fire.
Riverview Fire Chief Denis Pleau said the man was able to escape safely from the building but some pets died, according to a statement.
