A 59-year-old woman was taken to hospital Saturday night after she was hit by a vehicle in Fredericton.

The pedestrian was struck on Regent Street near McLeod Avenue around 7 p.m., according to Fredericton police.

Police closed the road for more than two hours as a crash scene expert investigated.

Police said the victim was treated for injuries at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Police have not yet decided if charges will be laid.
