The oldest Canadian who was born in the country has died in Saint-Antoine, N.B., at an age of 112 years and 255 days.

Adéa Pellerin-Cormier was born on Sept. 11, 1901 in Cocagne Cap. She died on Saturday surrounded by family.

British Columbia's Merle Barwis is Canada's oldest person at 113 years and 154 days of age. Barwis was born in the United States.

Pellerin-Cormier was featured in a film A Sunday at 105 by Daniel Léger, her great-grandson.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur Roman Catholic church in Notre-Dame.
