Many New Brunswickers are planning to leave the cold winter temperatures and mounting snow banks behind them next week and fly to a sunny vacation destination.
New Brunswickers will begin heading to these warmer destinations for March Break next week, including Florida, which is seeing a resurgence in popularity this year.
Gary Howard, a Canadian Automobile Association spokesperson, said the number of Florida vacations are way up this year. He estimates trips to the state are up by 20 per cent.
Jessica Walker said that is not a surprise. She and her family are leaving for their 12th trip to Florida since 1998.
"You know the area, you know the language, you understand the currency. For us, that is part of it, the comfort of it all," she said.
